A seat at a Dubai supper club sold for between AED 230 and AED 495 per person in October 2026, at tables set everywhere from a private home in Al Barsha 2 to rooftops and offices (The Dubai Atlas, 10 October 2026). The venues behind those dinners are increasingly hired by the hour rather than leased: when Shuttrd's Q3 2026 price index was read on 2 October 2026, cafes and restaurants on the platform listed at a median AED 525 per hour and homes at AED 900. This guide covers what the supper club scene looks like, what the room and the kitchen actually cost, and the licensing questions to settle before you charge anyone for dinner.

What is a supper club, and where do Dubai hosts run them?

A supper club is a ticketed dinner hosted by a chef or home cook, usually a set menu at a shared table, in a space that is not a conventional restaurant. Dubai has a lively scene. What's On counted 14 of them in its round-up of 5 June 2024, including Savour to Taste, run by chef Scott Henry in a converted residential space in JVT; The CBF Express by chef Roseanne Orim, hosted at a secret Business Bay location shared only after a confirmed booking; and The Italian Supper, whose chefs cook in the guests' own homes. The format is also a proven launchpad: What's On notes that Fusion Ceviche, Hawkerboi and Kinoya all started as supper clubs before opening permanent restaurants.

The venues move around. Kuv's Secret Supper Club runs across private homes, villas, rooftops and offices depending on the booking, and some hosts reveal the address as little as 24 hours before the event (The Dubai Atlas, 10 October 2026). That roaming model is exactly what hourly space hire exists for: the host books a different room each month without ever signing a lease.

What does a supper club seat cost in Dubai?

Published per-seat prices in October 2026 (The Dubai Atlas, 10 October 2026, all booked via Splidu unless noted):

Supper clubVenuePrice per seat
South SideJumeirah 1AED 230
Three Homes AgoNad Al Sheba 1AED 320
Kuv's Secret Supper ClubRotating private venuesAED 395
Robz' Chef's TablePrivate home, Al Barsha 2 (14 seats)AED 495

For context, Kuv's was charging AED 375 a seat in mid-2024 (What's On, 5 June 2024), so pricing has been fairly stable. Most clubs seat between 10 and 20 guests, which keeps the gross per dinner in the AED 3,000 to 7,000 range - a number that matters once you price the venue.

Which spaces can you hire by the hour for a paid dinner?

Shuttrd lists dining-friendly spaces across several categories, and the Q3 2026 price index (figures read 2 October 2026) gives the honest baseline: cafes and restaurants listed at a median AED 525 per hour, homes - apartments, villas and penthouses - at AED 900, and event spaces and warehouses at AED 1,000. Market guides point the same way: Eventflare's Dubai private dining guide (read 27 October 2026) puts basic rooms at AED 500 to 2,000 per hour, mid-range venues at AED 1,000 to 5,000 per hour, and premium spaces at AED 5,000 to 20,000, with in-house catering from about AED 100 per person and mid-range menus at AED 200 to 500 per person, plus a 10 to 15 per cent service charge on restaurant bills.

Match the space to the dinner rather than the other way round. A cafe or restaurant gives you a commercial kitchen, tableware and often staff, so it suits first-time hosts; our guide to restaurants and cafes you can rent for a private event compares hourly hire with minimum-spend deals in detail. A villa or apartment gives the "dinner at someone's home" intimacy the format is known for, but you inherit a domestic kitchen, so menus that finish on-site rather than cook from scratch work best. An event space or warehouse scales past 30 covers and takes external catering, though you may be bringing in everything from tables to a field kitchen.

Do the numbers work? A worked example

Here is an illustrative dinner - every figure is an assumption, not a quote. Fourteen seats at AED 350 grosses AED 4,900. A five-hour cafe booking at the Q3 index median of AED 525 per hour costs AED 2,625, leaving roughly AED 2,275 for ingredients, help and extras before the host earns anything. The same dinner in a home at the AED 900 median costs AED 4,500 in venue alone - which is why home-based clubs either charge at the top of the range, seat more guests, or negotiate longer bookings. Hourly hire rewards hosts who are disciplined about setup and breakdown time: arrive with the menu largely prepped and the venue bill stays small. Do you need a licence to charge guests for dinner in Dubai?

This is the question to settle first, and the honest answer is: verify your specific setup with the authorities, because the published rules were written for restaurants and caterers rather than roaming dinner hosts. The requirements summarised by EvolvX (28 January 2026, updated 23 October 2026) are a trade licence with a food activity from Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism or a free zone, plus Dubai Municipality food safety approval of the kitchen. Dubai Municipality's April 2020 minimum-area rules set 1,000 sq ft as the floor for catering and party-cook kitchens. Each operation needs a certified Person in Charge, and food handlers need health screening, listed at AED 170 per person in the DHA's 2022 fee schedule. The home-based Intelaq licence is limited to UAE and GCC nationals and still requires a designated kitchen with its own outside entrance (Dubai Media Office, August 2020). How Dubai's existing supper clubs structure their licensing is not published, so before selling a single seat, put your model - who cooks, where, and who invoices - in front of DET and Dubai Municipality and get the answer in writing.

What about prep space? Hiring a kitchen without a lease

A dedicated commercial kitchen is a heavy fixed cost for an occasional dinner. Shared kitchen workstations of around 200 sq ft in Al Quoz listed at about AED 7,000 per month (Mazeed, 27 May 2025), and the cheapest fitted cloud kitchen on dubizzle as of 11 October 2026 - a 474 sq ft unit in International City - was asking AED 58,000 a year, roughly AED 4,800 a month (EvolvX, updated 23 October 2026). For a host running one or two dinners a month, that maths rarely closes. The hourly alternative is to book a space that already has the kitchen in it: a cafe during its closed hours, a villa with a serious domestic setup, or a restaurant between services. Hosts on the supply side of that trade - restaurant owners with dark Mondays or dead afternoons - can see what those hours are worth in our guide to listing your restaurant's off-hours.

How to find the table

Filter by Cafe/Restaurant, Apartment or Event Space, check each listing's rules on cooking, catering, guest numbers and noise, and message the host about kitchen access before you book - some listings include it, others treat it as an add-on. Browse Spaces to see what is available by the hour, and if you already run dinners, the same pages show what your kind of venue is charging.
